Neus Vegas I Morales - DC10

I am Neus Vegas Morales, and I studied Statistics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). I then pursued an Erasmus Mundus Master's in Artificial Intelligence, which took me to Nijmegen and Rome, an experience that really shaped both my academic path and my love for exploring new places. Now, I'm doing my PhD at the Institute of Tissue Medicine and Pathology in Bern, under the supervision of Prof. Inti Zlobec and co-supervised by Prof. Maria Rodriguez from Yale University.

My research focuses on identifying autoantigens through computational methods. To do this, I combine structural prediction tools with flexible docking approaches to model how proteins interact with immune receptors. The goal is to understand which molecular structures trigger autoimmune responses, which could ultimately help in the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases.

Outside the lab, I'm always up for a challenge: last year I completed my first triathlon! I love sports and traveling, and living in different countries has only made me more curious about the world.
